Finding Poetry in Everyday Life When I'm deciding what to paint next, I'm usually drawn to vibrant colors in sunlit rooms, or through a sunny window. I like to depict those small moments of beauty and joy that you notice when you're alone with your thoughts. With each painting, I'm saying to the viewer "See? This small moment of beauty could be just enough to build a good life on. It doesn't take much. Just collect the small bits of joy, and they add up." I had to learn this method of collecting small moments to build a good life when I was very ill and awaiting diagnosis of two autoimmune conditions for nearly a decade. I was able to feel like my life was good and worthwhile by noticing the small good things, and then painting them. Now that I'm better, it's just a habit, and it continues to enrich and fulfill my life, alongside being able to do so much more. This shop is Eco-friendly. I use recycled papers, envelopes, and shipping supplies whenever possible, and look for other sustainability features in my materials such as safer chemicals used for manufacturing, Forest Stewardship Council certified, and shorter shipping distances. I use my scraps from cutting prints for tags and packaging to reduce waste. Read their story
