About Anna's Healthy Hummingbird

Named after and inspired by Anna's species of Hummingbirds. In January 2024, the temperature in Washington state was a freezing 4 degrees F outside and I had to change the nectar in my glass hummingbird feeder every 3 hours. I happened to have a stainless-steel water bottle in my freezer at the time, and the liquid was not frozen. This gave me the idea to design an insulated hummingbird feeder using vacuum insulation technology. I emailed back and forth with a manufacturer and tested prototypes. When the final sample came, it was beautiful, and the design was so different from typical hummingbird feeders. I found that the hummingbirds used it right away. It is also so easy to clean. I have one hanging outside my kitchen window and one sitting on my porch railing and the hummingbirds use both. I plan to use it year-round as it is also useful during heat waves to delay nectar from spoiling. Read their story
