In early 2019, Rayward Apparel’s founder, Devin Regan, was diagnosed with Stage 1A Melanoma. Discovered during a routine skin check, what seemed like a normal freckle turned out to be a tumor requiring immediate surgery. After the successful removal of the tumor, and to avoid recurrence, Devin started researching the leading causes of skin cancer only to find out most shirt offered little to no UV protection. In addition, most of the UV protective shirts were bulky, heavy, and poorly designed. He knew there must be a better option, a shirt that could protect as well as it could perform, which was the starting point for Rayward Apparel. Rayward Apparel is a brand dedicated to producing quality apparel designed to protect you from the sun. Skin cancer is the #1 diagnosed cancer in America, yet we continue to wear clothing that fails to protect our skin from UV radiation. We exclusively produce lab certified sun protective clothing specifically designed to keep you safe during a full day in the sun—all without sacrificing comfort, style or convenience. In addition to designing game changing sun protective apparel, Rayward Apparel is committed to helping fight skin cancer on a larger scale. From day one, 5% of all online sales is donated to organizations dedicated to the research and treatment of skin cancer. Our current partner is the largest non-profit funder of melanoma research in the world - The Melanoma Research Alliance.
