"Liebetreu," German for "true love," perfectly captures the essence of LEE.BA.TROY Studio, where founder Kristy's devotion to craft meets her mission to connect others with nature's healing embrace. This deeper purpose emerged from her personal journey through grief and healing after losing her brother Kurt to suicide. Through nature, creative expression, and EMDR therapy, she found her path forward and discovered her calling: creating jewelry that reminds us to prioritize self-care and lead with love, while supporting mental health organizations through a portion of proceeds. In her signature Lake Formed collection, Kristy combines precious metals with elements from the Great Lakes to create one-of-a-kind wearable sculptures. These pieces tell deeply personal stories - some capture the raw beauty of lakeside memories, while others preserve remembrances of loved ones through thoughtfully incorporated mementos like flower petals or a lock of hair. Through the alchemy of molten metal, these meaningful connections are transformed into enduring treasures. After fifteen years of teaching art, Kristy fully dedicated herself to LEE.BA.TROY Studio (phonetic spelling of Liebetreu that she kept on her classroom board) in 2022, rediscovering the joy of creating small sanctuaries of peace.
