About Rossella Casadio

I graduated from the Institute of Art for Mosaic in Ravenna where I obtained my Master of Art diploma and a baccalaureate degree in Applied Art. Born and raised in Cesenatico with a deep bond with the sea and nature in general that have always been a source of great inspiration for me. My works are born from a sparkle, from a vision that is still not well defined that inhabit my mind and that gradually take shape in my hands. I create mosaic paintings on old and old woods such as doors, furniture parts or simple boards that I recover and restore. The passion for reuse led me to see the woods I choose as “canvas” and to make them an integral part of the picture. A memory that comes back to life without ever being distorted. The mosaic that I am going to create on them must be combined in harmony with the support for both spaces and colors. Looking at the wood I find inspiration and in my mind the subject that I will then go to create is born. I only create unique pieces. I created my own style, making it personal and recognizable: in addition to the materials of the mosaic such as precious Venetian enamels and gold, stones and marbles, I insert parts of old rusty tools into the works, stainless steel, brass, copper, porcelain, ceramics, crystals, furniture parts, rubber, mechanical parts, old brushes, electrical equipment,.. The materials I use are endless, every research leads me to discover new objects to be reused that will make each of my paintings unique and special. Read their story
