About Birdy's Provisions

Birdy's Provisions make small-batch mustards crafted in New England. We are focused on making mustard products that give tribute to their historical foundations. Specifically, our recipes rely on few ingredients to highlight the amazing flavors of the mustard seed. In addition, we avoid heat in our production (as it dramatically changes the flavor) and rely on aging our mustards. Birdy's evolved from a love of both food and ecology. Our founder, Doug Partridge has been researching or making mustard most of his adult life. While studying for an advanced degree in Ecology at the University of Michigan focused on ecological properties of the mustard plant family, Doug became keenly aware of the culinary importance of this family of plants. He began researching the historical uses and production of mustard. Our mustards are the culmination of over ten years of researching and testing to make our favorite mustards. We strive to be a pantry staple for the everyday home cook. Read their story
