About Trani Designs

I’m a U.S. Army veteran, former diplomat, retired Senior Executive Service leader, Harvard graduate, executive coach, and lifelong admirer of well-made men’s accessories. For much of my career, I wore a suit daily and learned that small details often speak the loudest. Accessories aren’t just adornment—they’re expressions of identity. In 2013, while searching for pocket squares, I noticed something missing. Many were beautifully made, but few had a voice. I wanted accessories that could spark curiosity and invite conversation. So I began designing my own. Working with my brother Paul, an accomplished designer, I created pieces inspired by fine art, Americana, and timeless design. I wore them, gifted them, and soon people weren’t just asking where I got them—they wanted them too. What began as a personal project became Trani Designs. That same philosophy led me to leather. I wanted a slim, elegant way to carry notecards—discreet enough for a jacket pocket, yet refined enough to honor the ideas written inside. After extensive experimentation with trusted makers, those early prototypes evolved into the leather goods you see here today. Every piece—silk or leather—is designed with the same intent: understated elegance, everyday function, and quiet distinction. These are subtle luxuries, meant to be used, worn, and lived with.
