About Sjofn's Musings

Sjofn's Musings is a one-woman shop creating hand-knit items out of high quality, natural fibers in Duluth, Minnesota. Each of my knit items has been created by me using high quality, luxury yarns. I enjoy working with natural fibers including wool, merino wool, alpaca, cashmere, camel, and pima cotton for several reasons. These materials have a good hand (softness to the touch) that continues to improve over time as they are worn and properly laundered. They also work well to with the body's natural heating and cooling system by storing air between the fibers and wicking moisture away from your skin. My items are made using high quality yarns because finer fibers provide a better experience for the wearer and often have more softness and warmth to them. Knitting is a slow, detailed process and my yarns are selected to strike the balance between showing detail in the work, enhancing the beauty of the fiber, and creating a piece that feels wonderful to wear. When I am creating a new knitted piece, the design and yarns being used are tested for how it feels against the skin (softness), weight (warmth) and drape to ensure you receive a lovely garment. As a result, each item I design and create is made with intention and attention to detail to last for years to come.
