I fell in love with these square glass beads after graduating from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2010. Each bead I sew one at a time, a fiber process known as bead-weaving. It is very similar to knit or crochet. I experiment with styles, patterns, and fun color combinations, which put a modern twist on a traditional fiber process. Beading is therapeutic for me because I love how the square beads stack, the tactile feel of how the glass is cool to the touch, and how it reflects light. I make various styles in one color combination, switch up the beads, and rarely return to the same design. This makes all my jewelry pieces limited edition.
