About Hybrid Culture

Hybrid Culture was founded by Katherine’s passion for knitwear and home decor. She learned about the art of knitting while studying abroad in Florence, Italy. After returning to New York, she spent decades designing women’s sweaters and much more for brands across the US and beyond. During that time, she traveled to factories across the globe to China & Europe. Hybrid Culture is a reflection of her very own upbringing. Living in a dual culture, born of Latin American parents and a native of New York City, Katherine brings a global sensibility to her designs. Hybrid Culture accessories are made of the very fine Italian yarns she once worked with in her days in Florence and locally made in the United States where she lives. The pieces are an homage to the artisanship of knitting and a modern accessory for those with a keen appreciation for design. Each piece is a combination of century old yarn spinning technique and modern day computer engineering technology. The pieces are knit to shape generating minimal waste. They are timeless and modern.
