About Bina Mehta Spice Blends

Bina Mehta grew up in the exuberant city of Mumbai, India, where she inherited the traditions of the Ayurvedic lifestyle and philosophy from her family who followed this ancient wisdom in their daily lives. Since moving to the US, she has joyfully offered and shared her passion for Indian culture, food, and vibrant living. Bina, a certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant, created her spice blends in 2015 at the request of her cooking class students to simplify Indian cooking. Her gourmet creations became her company, Bina Mehta Spice Blends, which offers seven spice blends based on Ayurveda: Aromatic Chai, Bombay Masala, Feisty Tiger, Garam Masala, Maharani Masala, Roasted Cumin, and Tikka Masala. Handcrafted and roasted locally in Fort Collins, Colorado, Bina’s blends are versatile and add complex flavor to Indian recipes as well as other types of cuisine. In 2019, Bina published her cookbook, Turmeric & Spice: Indian Cuisine for the Mind, Body and Spirit, where she shares her creative culinary journey through authentic Indian recipes, her knowledge of Indian cooking, and her expertise on Ayurveda philosophy. Bina has learned that at its core Ayurveda is about finding balance in your unique circumstances within a constantly changing environment. This practice includes awareness of the choices you make about your lifestyle, including your diet.
