About Branscombe Design Co

I’m Michelle, owner, designer, and creator of Branscombe Design Co. I started Branscombe Design Co back in 2017 after finishing mat leave with my youngest little guy. I decided to leave my full-time job to stay home, and quickly found that I needed to do something creative and challenging for myself. ​ But why decor, you ask? Well, as a full-time Mom of toddlers, I spent a lot of time in my home. (Like, a lot.) As many new moms know, it can be a tough transition into playing the Mom role 24/7. My experience was no different. It was important to me that our home was a warm, welcoming, and enjoyable space, that was uniquely “us”. I wasn’t in love with the selection and quality of many decor products I found, so decided to make my own. I started with “This Is Our Happy Place”. And I was in love. ​ With a background in business, marketing and advertising strategy, and love for graphic design and home decor, I jumped in with both feet. (Ok, I waddled in slowly, with a toddler on my leg and a baby on my chest.) ​ Four years later, my products continue to evolve. Every day, I commit myself to staying on top of design trends, adding unique flare and attention to detail to each order that leaves my shop. You can now find Branscombe Design Co pieces in several boutiques in Ontario, as my small business continues to grow and expand in the market. ​ Each item is made start to finish in my home studio in Kingston Ontario.
