ART + PAPER GOODS TO MAKE HEARTS + SPACES HAPPY Kristie Lyn Studios celebrates the beauty of every day through illustration and watercolor paintings. These become wall art, paper goods, and home goods with the intention of making our hearts and spaces happy. As a child, I slept with a box of crayons. I invented board games. I wrote fanciful stories. I drew colorful pictures. I painted with water on the sidewalks. I created wooden sculptures from scraps in my father's workshop. I played outside creating fanciful adventures. So was the childhood of the 1970s. Now, I am a traditional artist preferring to illustrate using timeless methods and materials from my mid-1800's studio table. Nature and nostalgia influence most of my work. I create collections that both recognize the beauty in the every day and reflect on the joyful moments from the past. Every series has a story of how it came to be; the influences, the history, the deeper (and lighter) meaning, and the reasons it was important for me to create them. Both our living spaces and our hearts should feel warm, cozy, and beautiful. They reflect who we are, what we cherish, and how we live. These are all the reasons I do what I do. Why I create.
