1.61 Soft Goods is a product design studio with a focus on products that are understated tools for a modern standard. 1.61 represents the golden ratio. The number symbolizes our core focus of all products; the beauty in proportion with an emphasis on the utility and function of its purpose. We carefully select the most appropriate materials that are not only high quality, but will also age with character. Our story began growing up in separate countries, and our admiration with each of our grandparent’s heirloom memorabilia with the beauty of utility. Organically, the studio grew from a personal need for a product which the aesthetics do not compromise the function. After exciting and fruitful first 5 years of our company in Los Angeles, we moved to Tokyo, Japan in Spring 2017, to begin new chapter of our life. 1.61 Soft Goods is born in LA, and now growing in Tokyo.Read their story
