About Duct-Aid

Duct-Aid was founded in Southern Utah by a small group of people who wanted to make the world a safer place. In a region where camping, hiking, climbing, and riding ATV’s are part of everyday life, we grew up loving adventure — and we also grew up seeing how quickly adventure can turn into emergency. Every time an accident happened on the trail, the rock face, or the road, we felt the same sting of tragedy: not just because someone got hurt, but because lives can be lost simply when the right supplies or knowledge aren’t close enough. That problem became our mission. Duct-Aid began with Dr. Mitchell J. Melling. After years working in ERs across small towns in Utah, he saw multiple situations where duct tape played a real role in saving lives — holding wounds closed, stabilizing injuries, buying time until proper care was available. He first imagined a purpose-built duct tape emergency kit nearly 20 years ago and has been refining the idea ever since. Today, that idea is real. We’ve developed the first medical-grade duct tape designed to be safe for direct use on skin and open wounds. We’ve also built a compact emergency kit that stores inside the roll, keeping critical tools together in one simple, rugged system.
