The easy explanation is that Pip & Lola's is a Pittsburgh-area handmade soap company specializing in lightly scented, hot process bar soaps and solid shampoos. This may be true true but that doesn't really explain to you WHO we are. Pip & Lola's was started in 2011 in Seattle, WA by Samantha and Bruce Story-Camp (that's us - yes, that's really our name). Pip is the nickname of our youngest son and Lola is his older sister. Since our first year, we have had our Suspended Soap Shelf for which customers can purchase soaps which we then match and donate when we get a bunch gathered together. During lockdown related to the COVID-19 pandemic, our customers really brought it and we were able to donate 500 bars to food banks and homeless shelters in just a 2 month span. We were also increasingly aware of the growing needs of domestic violence shelters. We knew that a time which was an annoyance for us was HELL for folks being forced to shelter in place with their abusers. We wanted to do whatever we could to help. We can't afford to write big fat checks.... but SOAP we can do. Starting in August of 2020, for every TWO items that we sell each month we donate one full sized bar of soap to a local, regional or national domestic violence shelter or charity. In 2020, we were able to donate 3000 bars to Pennsylvania Domestic Violence shelters. As of May 2021, we have donated almost 4,000 bars just in 2021 and are hoping for over 10,000 bars per year donated.Read their story
