About DeRoucheau Handmade Knitwear

DeRoucheau Handmade Knitwear was founded with the clear objective of bringing luxurious handmade knitwear using sustainable fibers, to modern women. Our designs are based off of a timeless wardrobe, where minimalism is mixed with classic silhouettes, refined details, tonal hues, and cozy textures. We focus on creating small batches of knitwear that are designed in the United States and responsibly handmade in Peru, by a team of artisan knitters who share the same values as us, to slow down the fashion cycle, celebrate handmade craftsmanship, and invest in ethical production practices. Background: DeRoucheau Handmade Knitwear was started in September of 2010 by Deanna DeRoucheau. Starting off with a small variety of scarves, later grew into into more accessories and apparel. Designing new styles each year for small boutiques around the world and large companies like Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie, Deanna hand knit every individual piece by hand. In 2020, with the need for extra hands, we have expanded to a team of 30 women in Peru that continue to knit every item by hand.Read their story
