What happens to you when you put on a piece of jewellery? What made you choose that particular piece? Some jewellery has more affectionate meaning than others, certainly and in my personal collection some of them have more importance. Like my half of the «best friends»-necklace I shared with my best friend in elementary school. Every time I wear my great grandmother’s old necklace I`m reminded of the happy and playful woman she was, who inspired people wherever she went. Some jewellery I own means a lot to me because the jewellery designer has created something unique, as if the jewellery has its own language and wants to tell us something that I can understand/interpret. All my jewellery has been designed with a story to tell, and the thought has been of my customers to interpret the design and create their own stories. They are all authentic and inspired by a certain mood or experience, and they are often a result of a particular standpoint or a conscious choice I have made. I would like my jewellery to give you that extra little boost of self-esteem, pride and comfort, inspiring you to make new choices or stand up for yourself. I've been making jewellery since completed my master’s degree in 2003,andI have been running my own workshop since 2004. Along the road I have been awarded a Norwegian Champion title and participated in World Skill. Today I run Ilda Design with my three colleagues and we hope you enjoy our stories and the jewelry we make.Read their story
