About Maven Leather + Design

Maven Leather is a small, boutique leather studio located on the Central Coast of California and led by Maven founder + artist, Emma Thieme. We use full-grain, minimally-processed, “rescued hides” to create our original designs in-house, Most of the hides we use are from free-roaming American bison and are of premium quality. We are passionate about sustainability and incorporate natural-dyeing into our work whenever possible. Many of our colors were achieved through plant and insect dyeing — a sustainable and traditional process that dates back 15,000 years in human civilization.
