About Everett Ruess Blockprint Images

In November of 1934 a twenty year old explorer from Los Angeles disappeared for the red rock canyon country Southeastern, Utah. His family looked for him for years until finally publishing a book about their son Everett Ruess. Here they showed Everett to be a curious and artistic person a poet, philosopher and artist. He excelled at wood block printing. Though his body was never found his artwork lives on and his legacy often compared with that of Henry David Thoreau and Amelia Earhart. HIs is one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of the Americas. In 1995 designer Steven Ralph Jerman got permission for Ruess surviving brother to launch a line of licensed reproductions and merchandise.
