Root & Seed is on a mission to end the loss of tradition. By harnessing the age-old power of oral storytelling, we create tools to motivate more meaningful intergenerational conversations. Our games help people discover, capture, and preserve their unique family cultures: Conversation cards link to a free mobile companion tool that unlocks dig-deeper questions and allows you to preserve an audio recording of your tales, traditions, and recipes in a private family library. Started by two women who were on their own journey to rediscover their unique family stories and cultures, Root & Seed works to inspire and provide tools for each family to see the beauty in their heritage while deepening family relationships. It was important that we worked with journalists to craft an arc of questions that gets elders talking and sharing the full story, cognitive linguists to make sure wording is appropriate for all ages, and a suite of cultural advisors to ensure prompts are sensitive to people of all backgrounds.
