Hello, we are Laura, Marina and Raúl, the second generation of coffee lovers, a passion that we have inherited from our parents, María and Manuel, who were only 19 and 24 years old decided to set up a coffee roaster in a small town in the province of Jaén located in the Sierra de Segura. Do you want to know how Cafés Sierra Segura started? November 1980, Maria and Manuel arrive in Puente de Génave, town of Manuel, determined to try their luck by creating their own coffee company. They gathered all their savings and bought their first roasting machine, one of the smallest on the market, and began to roast the first beans, they had invested all their savings in the toaster and to taste the coffee they had roasted they had to go to the bar across the street and ask the waiter to make them an espresso from their own coffee, since neither they even had their own coffee maker. After several years of complications and stress, when they began to reap the fruits of such hard work, they had to face the worst situation to date, Manuel began to suffer from asthma attacks due to an allergy to green coffee, a situation that greatly complicated the viability of the business, but after several days of uncertainty they decided that they would go ahead, Maria would roast the coffee while Manuel would take care of the sale.
