ECCTO is a design publishing house created in 2021, offering objects conceived and designed in France, then manufactured in Europe. The name ECCTO is derived from the word "necton," referring to marine organisms that have the ability to swim. From a sensitive observation of the marine environment, the lines of each object are drawn - the systems of the sea become a formal material in the process of creating an object. This marine reference as a starting point for an aesthetic research proposes an ethical reflection aimed at raising awareness of the instability of the marine environment. Thus, the object is conceived as a form of archive of a fragile ecosystem. Situated in formal minimalism, ECCTO's identity respects this principle by limiting the impact of the object on our environment. De facto, each object is produced in France and Europe, with the intention of maintaining proximity with our suppliers. If the analysis of an environment is important in design, then the objects resulting from these observations must raise our appreciation of an ecosystem.Read their story
