Santa Barbara-based watercolor artist, Chloé Marie Hourdequin, has honed her watercolor skills for over 15 years. She became a strong advocate for the arts through her involvement with the Santa Barbara Museum of Art Ridley-Tree Children’s Art Camp for several years. She would further her education in the humanities by studying at UCLA and later earn three Bachelor of Arts degrees in Art History, Anthropology, and History. She promoted art education through her role as the President of the Art History Undergraduate Student Association and the sole Undergraduate Art History representative for the student board of the School of Arts and Architecture at UCLA. She has since then worked for the Director of Public Programs at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, Fowler Museum at UCLA, and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. As of June 1 2021, Chloé had established her own business focussing on her watercolor artwork. Prints of her vibrant designs can be found up and down the coast of California. She has created a collection of artwork that is bold and vibrant to the beholder, focusing on enhancing colors and shapes to be as distinguishable as panes of colored glass in a stained glass window. Her work is inspired by local native flora and fauna from California and local landmarks. Read their story
