"Necessity is the mother of invention.” That is how my my skin care line was born out of necessity for my own problematic skin over 20 years ago. What I thought were benign skin issues turned out to be multiple autoimmune diseases and a whole slew of skin problems. Having overly sensitive skin, prone to cracking and allergic reactions, I began to do research on different types of soaps and scrubs so that I could shower without breaking out more or causing skin flare ups. After many years later filled with wine, research and toiling in my kitchen, we discovered Activated Charcoal. As soon as we added that to our humble little concoction it cleared up everyone's everything within less than a week. In 2014 we came up with a name and started selling it, no idea if anyone else would be brave enough to shower with a black scrub with oils in it to clear up acne. With in months we were selling across the country, setting up in spas, salons, boutiques, interior design companies and even a tattoo parlor. We cannot thank all of those first brave souls that agreed to shower with our Dirt! Still handmade in Charleston, SC, our sugar scrubs are hand made from all natural ingredients. It is just as important as what we put into our scrubs is what we do not put into our scrubs. Our products contain no preservatives, alcohols or acids of any kind or dyes, petroleum, parabens, unnecessary fillers or chemicals leaving you with a pure, all natural clean glow!
