Marija Ivankovic Jurisic is a Serbian textile designer and the owner of Marija handmade Art workshop, which she founded 10 years ago in Belgrade. Marija has taken part in 30 fashion shows in Serbia and around the world, but she is especially proud of the 6 fashion shows in Australia in 2013 and in February 2019th, as well as those in Paris, Vienna, Amsterdam, Den Hague, Germany and Switzerland. Marija won 2 awards: “Flower of the Succes” from the Association of Business Women Serbia and the Prize for successful participation in the Textile programs of the European Entrepreneur Network. She is a member of both the Association of Business Women Serbia and the Society for the Preservation of Traditional Crafts. The Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Serbia certified that Marija Handmade products are 100% hand-woven, hand-knitted, and hand-embroidered, and thus are labeled true handicrafts and domestic Serbian art products. Marija Handmade merchandise can be found in stores in Belgrade but they are also available globally through the online shop. Basic techniques of making textiles in Marija Handmade: • Weaving • Knitting • Crocheting • Embroidery Certificate that hand-woven, knitted and hand embroidered products of the workshop “MARIJA HAND MADE” by entrepreneur Marija Ivanković are domestic products labelled with the symbol of an open hand made by local women. Mostly natural fabrics, knitwear and wool fabrics, cotton fibers, linen, raw hemp and silk are used.
