About Earring Holder Gallery

Growing up Barbara was always surrounded by art. Her mother always had her paints out and she and her sisters had their own easels and would spend hours along side of her. While brainstorming with another artist friend she remembered reading about an original American folk art form, popularized in Baltimore, where local artists would paint on the row house screen doors and windows. Barbara decided to try this technique with a landscape design on one of her own screen windows and has been painting on screen ever since. That first one was completed nearly 25 years ago. The Earring Holder Gallery was born from this same concept we just miniturized it and gave it a new purpose. One of the biggest challenges, painting on screen, is to keep the thousands of holes clear of paint. Also, the screen does not allow for a lot of fine detail, so each design has to be chosen with that in mind.
