About Delicate Hardwear

Cathy, a New Jersey native, who moved to Missoula, MT with her husband and three sons, seven years ago. She received a BS in Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1988 and started her career as the Director of Design & Production for a local newspaper. After having children, she went back to school and got her real estate license. She worked as an agent in New Jersey before moving to Montana. In NJ, she took jewelry classes for fun and loved to create unique pieces for friends. Upon moving to Missoula, Cathy continued to perfect her jewelry style. Cathy feels so fortunate to call Montana her new home state and being a part of the incredible handmade artisan community in Missoula with her DELICATE HARDWEAR jewelry line. The original concept behind the line was to create delicate wearable art from tough and rugged materials. She started out featuring recycled and repurposed hardware items that were the focus of her pieces. She has moved to a more minimalist approach designing pieces with precious metal clay, which she carefully shapes, fires & polishes to create unique pieces. In addition, she uses many beautiful semi-precious beads and stones to highlight some of her work. The entire jewelry line features wearable art, as well as one-of-a-kind pieces. The line features one-of-a-kind handmade creations with options to collaborate on custom orders. It’s all about making you feel special and unique when you wear one of her handmade pieces.
