Masala Gossip was born from founder Dhara’s lifelong connection to food and family. Growing up in Punjab, India, she spent countless hours in the kitchen with her grandmother, mother, and brother, cooking meals that were as nourishing as they were flavorful. From hand-picking vegetables on her family farm to creating meals steeped in tradition, every dish was a celebration of togetherness, health, and the joy of cooking. After leaving a career in tech that felt unfulfilling, she found her way back to her roots and passion for food. Inspired by the authentic recipes of her childhood, she saw an opportunity to share the bold, vibrant flavors of Indian home cooking with modern kitchens in a way that felt simple and approachable. Cooking has always been her way of building connections, whether through family dinners or sharing meals with friends. Dhara realized that many people found Indian cooking intimidating or time-consuming, and she wanted to change that.
