Since 1856, Savonnerie Fer à Cheval has been perpetuating the method of manufacturing and saponifying Marseille soap in a cauldron. Our soap factory, rooted in Living Heritage, is proud to continue to make a flagship product of Marseille's cultural heritage with tradition and passion. We have kept a craftsman's soul, and patiently make a soap that is not perfect but alive and well. Listed as a Historic Monument, our soap factory offers products based on olive and vegetable oils that meticulously respect the manufacturing process of the Edict of Colbert dating from 1688.
