The brand bears the name of the Langelütje family, Hamburg sugar manufacturers with a storied history. We are particularly inspired by Gerta Langelütje, the last living bearer of the name – a woman with poise, style, and a keen sense for the essentials. From her world, her language, and her way of life, a brand emerged that places the personal at its center. And then there is our mascot: the armadillo Molly.
