About Hetti Rugs

Founded after a trip to Iceland in 2015, Mary and Joe were moved by the sheepskins they found as well as the skill and attention shown by the artisans who made them. It was a cold winter night while the loving couple was driving through the Icelandic wilderness. As the snow grew heavier and the visibility of the terrain continuously decreased, it dawned on Joe that perhaps the time had come to call it a day. But, where would they go? Where would they sleep? These were all questions that now faced our loving couple. It was then that Mary noticed a building, not far in the distance, and the couple decided to head towards it in hope of finding lodgings. While they did find a place to shelter from the cold, they also found something else, for what they had entered was a tannery and wool mill. This sentiment led them to found company you find here today – love is at the heart of Hetti Rugs – although we might have grown a bit past making just for friends and family, we still show the same care to all of our products.Read their story
