About Garuka Bars

Our bars are handmade by 5 outdoors loving Vermonters, using local raw honey and recyclable packaging. Garuka is a silverback mountain gorilla living in the Virunga region of Rwanda. His name roughly translates as “Return Well,” and we've built our brand around that concept. When you pick up a Garuka Bar® to return your energy, you’re also supporting the cause to "return well" the future of endangered mountain gorillas because a portion of each sale supports the International Gorilla Conservation Program.
