Founded in 2006 by Boston designer Imani McFarlane, House of Tafari Collection offers a luxurious line of healing headwraps and accessories through its subsidiary, Tafari Wraps. Inspired by the vibrancy of the Caribbean and landscape of Africa, Tafari Wraps intentionally designs artful headwraps and accessories to uplift the spirit and restore dignity. Loved by hair loss thrivers, Afro-Diasporians connecting with their ancestral memory and women seeking fashionable hair coverings, our bold ankara and luscious silk headwraps, headbands, signature hats and masks serve as a natural external adaptogen for both wearer and passerby. Our one-on-one consultations and Wrapshop serves curious wrappers in need of styling advice, sourcing breathable and restorative textiles, and learning about wrap culture. With over 30 years as a couture designer and interior decorator, Imani finds healing in her headwrap, an accessory she began wearing at 14 years old, inspired by Jamaican singer Marcia Griffiths. Born in Jamaica, Imani’s love for good vibes runs deep. An active member of her Boston community, Imani’s philanthropic efforts range from Wrapping for a Cause, the company’s fundraiser to benefit cancer thrivers, to sharing her cooking and medicinal knowledge with loved ones. Imani is a grandmother to 3 intelligent young girls and mother of three. Her daughter Delmeshia Haynes works alongside her as the company’s Operations Manager.
