About metALUm

Our Story – metALUm since 2002 metALUm was founded in 2002 from a spontaneous idea – out of enthusiasm for creative printing processes and high-quality materials. At a trade fair, we discovered a high-pressure transfer press that allowed aluminum panels to be printed in impressive quality for the first time. This marked the beginning of our journey: The first products were handmade aluminum bookmarks, which we cut with a metal cutting machine and finished by hand. Later, we expanded our production with three CNC milling machines, which allowed us to precisely work out complex shapes. However, out of environmental awareness, we decided to switch from aluminum to wood-like materials, which we now process resource-efficiently and cleanly with our CO₂ laser. Since then, we – Kirsten and Marko Hilgers – design, print, and refine every product ourselves. Our workshop combines digital and UV printing, embossing, metallic finishing, and resin doming into a harmonious whole. Today, our focus is on high-quality greeting and condolence cards, created with attention to detail and genuine craftsmanship.
