Sandy Hyun started her jewelry making journey at a magical bead store called Eye on Design in Hinsdale, a suburb of Chicago. The owner's name was Lavinia and she was a fashionable and fabulous woman who collected rare and gorgeous beads from around the world. It was at that bead shop that Lavinia shared stories of her travels and knowledge of jewelry making. After art school Sandy traveled around Asia and learned about different jewelry techniques and sourced rare materials and brought her treasures to her new home in New York City. She started selling her pieces to iconic New York flagships such as Anna Sui, Calypso and Henri Bendel. Currently all of Sandy Hyun Jewelry pieces are made in Brooklyn by a team of local female artisans. Each design is made to order so there is no over-production. 22kt gold plated brass, vintage German glass, rare vintage Swarovski crystals, and Italian leather are some of the high quality materials that are used in her collection.Read their story
