About Owl Mark Ceramics

Utilizing Japanese wheel and hand building techniques she learned at the Togei Kayoshitu studio in New York City, Wendy Cebula is influenced by yakimono style crafting. She brings these techniques, plus the time she spends diving in the ocean off Southampton, NY and around the world to make fantastical and functional pottery. Each piece is inspired by living reef creatures in the sea and evokes underwater movement. Her products are food safe and tested for the microwave and dishwasher. Glazes are a combination of commercial and proprietary recipes. Everything is kiln-fired to 2300F. She believes in using sustainable or recycled elements wherever possible, and a portion of each item sold goes to the Surfrider Foundation. Read their story
