About D'Cuero

We are a family-owned business. Our shoe workshop was of founded in 1992 by Marcelo Munoz in Cuenca, Ecuador. He saw the potential and talent of artisans in the rural areas of his hometown, and he started a business with a vision: to become well-known for making a high-quality product. Today, 28 years after its foundation, D'Cuero has become a social enterprise for profit, advocating for conscious consuming and sustainable business practices. Marcelo's daughter, Elisa, is keeping up with the labor and trying to become an international brand. Our motto: "We believe in people over profit and quality over quantity". We make shoes with purpose: handcrafted leather shoes, ethically made by rural artisans in the south of Ecuador. We believe in the talent of our people and we want to show it to the world. Our artisans: - We work with 30 artisans, 70% of whom are women and mothers who work from home. - We provide permanent skill trainings. - They receive fair pay and health care benefits.
