About Maryland Candle Company

Maryland Candle Company was founded in 2016 by husband and wife team Stephen and Devon along with their goofy, kid-loving Great Dane Apollo. The journey started in 2015 when we were introduced to candle making from a US-veteran who had been making candles since the 70's! Our direction came from two key parameters we knew our candles had to have - First, they had to be made with ingredients grown in the USA - check. Secondly, they had to be non-toxic and healthy (we were just about to have our first child!) - check. So fast forward to nearly a year of research and development, we were able to create a product with superior quality that is priced fairly. We source the best natural vegetable wax (soy) we can find. Our fragrances are infused with essential oils and our wicks are 100% cotton - each candle, hand-poured. Our name and logo were designed by Devon to represent the rich history of oyster fishing - which features the iconic Maryland skipjack sailboat used for oyster fishing.Read their story
