About Little Ox Designs

Vanessa Schott is the artist of Little Ox Designs, a Fine Art business that produces handmade art prints and provides custom art and design services to the San Francisco Bay Area. Vanessa has been showing and selling her artwork for the better part of 8 years. Starting in San Jose, with her first art show at Kaleid Gallery in downtown, she shifted focus to producing art greeting cards and successfully got her line carried in multiple one of a kind shops in San Francisco that same year. As time went on, the art and mediums evolved to large scale abstract resin art pieces for client homes along the peninsula and commissions for commercial businesses in Colma and San Bruno. Then Covid hit and the entire world changed. During Covid Vanessa welcomed a baby girl, Penelope "Penna" Rose Schott. She is the inspiration behind the name Little Ox Designs as she is year of the OX. The past 3 years have brought moments of immense joy and also grief so heavy that some days it felt impossible to carry. Having taken a 2 year break from creating art to focus on raising her daughter, Vanessa decided to give her art business another go and through exploring and creating she found the process very healing. Creating these element inspired, peaceful collections allowed me to work through a lot of what i had been carrying through covid, stress, fear and doubt. There is a healing and calming energy that comes with these pieces and I love that my work helps to makes people feel better.Read their story
