About Mount Inspiration Apparel

In 2014, founder Evans Prater hiked the entire 2,185 mile Appalachian Trail from April 1 to August 15. It was on that journey that he became so inspired and intrinsically changed that he decided he had to tell the world about his experience. He took a spiritual backpacking quote he had coined on his journey, "Everything You Carry Should Be Light," and designed a sticker, which he started to sell at local gift shops in Asheville. The sticker started to sell really well, so Evans made more designs... One of the shops asked him to put his "LOVE Asheville" design on a shirt and in July 2015, Mount Inspiration Apparel was born. Today, we have four of our own retail stores and use Faire exclusively to buy and sell 3rd party products. Knowing the beauty and power of the platform, we have added our own sustainable clothing and art-forward products for other retailers to purchase as well. Everything is designed and printed in Asheville, NC, and we exclusively use organic cotton, recycled cotton, recycled plastic bottle polyester, hemp, bamboo, and sustainable inks/cleaners/solvents that are fume, petroleum, PVC, and phthalate free in our production facility.
