Creating sustainable and aesthetic pieces in an ethical way, Sissell Gustavsen is using biodegradable fabric and natural dyes. Focusing on craftsmanship, each scarf is handmade in a delicate process, where no fabric waste, chemicals or toxins are used. Sissell Gustavsen graduated from the prestigious design school Central Saint Martins in London. During her final year project, she discovered a new technique of eco-printing, using natural dye and rust. She developed this technique further after graduating, before starting her own brand of handmade organic silk scarves. All scarves are handmade from 100% organic peace silk satin. Peace silk is a sustainable and non-violent type of silk, that has been hand-spun in India after the silk moths have naturally left their cocoons. No types of pesticides are used in the silk production.
