We make ethical & sustainable goods, made in London by expert makers facing barriers to employment in the UK, with a focus on refugee and migrant women. Birdsong is the winner of The Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development & has been awarded an outstanding score of 117.2 in our B Corp Certification. Every single piece supporting women facing barriers to employment. When only 2% of garment workers worldwide are paid a living wage, wearing Birdsong is a protest against the fast nature of the fashion industry, against the obsessive pursuit of trends and against the systematic abuse of women in the production line. Our products are made in fair, equitable conditions in Tower Hamlets by people otherwise facing barriers to work, with a focus on migrant and refugee women and we pay London Living Wages for the work that they do. We provide a fully traceable product from fibre to finished garment. Our suppliers have reduced the C02 emissions from producing their t-shirts by 90%, certified by the Carbon Trust.
