Howdy! I'm Mel, a Northern Michigan gal living in Southwest Colorado. I create western-inspired landscapes and illustrations using a variety of mediums. My journey as an artist started as a fun side project to occupy my of free time during the pandemic. I had been gifted many of my grandmother's watercolor paint tubes and brushes, so I bought some paper and got busy! It started out as a way to fill the quiet moments of my days, but has since has evolved to something more. I find much of my inspiration just out my back door - in the San Juan Mountains and the deserts of the Four Corners region.
