About Cementini

Through her sister-in-law, Damaris became aware of concrete pouring. It was with great pleasure that she began to experiment. After many attempts and even more failed attempts, today's Cementini murals emerged. Through their work in the Association for Child and Youth Welfare “La Bussola” in Palermo, Italy, Marco and Damaris were repeatedly confronted with the major problem of youth unemployment in Palermo. Time and again, they had to watch how young people slipped into crime due to a lack of opportunities. This gave rise to the desire to involve young people from difficult social backgrounds in Cementini production. Working in the Cementini workshop offers a protected framework in which young people are individually supported, with the aim of being able to make the leap into the first job market. Read their story
