(ABOUT ME) My name is Assia Lau'ren and I'm a Los Angeles based Army Veteran turned Independent Artist. I was born in Baltimore, MD in 1992 to Faith and Albert, alongside my older sister Fendi. Growing up in Fredericksburg, VA, basketball was a big part of my childhood. After graduating from Howard University in 2014, I joined the US Army as an Active Duty Officer. I earned my Airborne wings, deployed multiple times, and eventually became a Jumpmaster. After six years of service, I decided to leave the military and move to LA to pursue a life that reflects my true aspirations. Along this journey, I've been rediscovering myself and embracing a life filled with purpose - plus I get to share this experience with my dog Nike, my partner Rayana, and her two cats Romi and Santi. When I'm not acting, I'm either hiking, writing, or shooting photography. I hope my work gives people a sense of belonging, while encouraging self-discovery. (ABOUT POETRY) I've always journaled because writing keeps me sane. My poetry is a translated version of my thoughts and stories into prose. I've published two books and am currently working on my third of a four-part collection. (ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY) During my military service, I documented my travels, sparking my passion for urban and landscape photography.
