About Yolélé

Yolélé is a revolutionary African foods company. Our purpose at Yolélé is to create economic opportunity for smallholder farming communities, to support their regenerative, biodiverse, and climate-smart agricultural systems, and to share Africa’s vibrant foodways with the world, starting with FONIO: the ancient West African grain. Yolélé was founded by Senegalese chef Pierre Thiam, award-winning chef + restaurateur, cookbook author, activist, and global ambassador for African cuisine + culture. Yolélé is a term of exuberance in the Fulani language, shouted out to get parties started and people dancing. Our fonio chips are the first in the world. They are light + crispy and are seasoned with bold, vibrant West African ingredients like baobab, moringa, and dawadawa.
