Imbued with a sense of rebellion, Manhattan Knights by Samuel Murkofsky is a streetwear brand that goes against the grain—countering the label hype with a sardonic air. Having come from a retail background, Murkofsky sought to create pieces that could both speak to the current trends and become closet staples, all the while avoiding brand driven graphics and logos. The brand encompasses a wide variety of product categories scattered across two main verticals: a diffusion line of merchandise and an upscale cut-and-sew line with a slew of collections. What ties them together is a focus on luxury fabrics and an attention to detail.  To that point, Manhattan Knights’ first line of merchandise, Cease and Desist, was made with a burning desire to satirize the label obsession that permeates modern streetwear with a tongue-in-chic sensibility. Each piece in the collection is infused with an irreverent sense of humor and created a cultish following among New York’s natives.
