About Mr B's Chocolates

Minnesota native Dwight Barnes loved chocolate. Dwight was a photographer by trade, at age 55 he started his second career as a chocolatier. A business trip to Belgium turned into the beginning of an education for Dwight Barnes as he gave photography lessons to world-renowned, chocolatier Hans Burie in exchange for learning traditional recipes and techniques. He brought this sweet knowledge back to Willmar and started making chocolate out of his photography studio, and that’s how Mr. B's was founded in 1987. In 2017, Mr. B’s CHOCOLATE welcomed our second Mr. B, Brian Bollig, who brought his own passion for chocolate and a commitment to share Mr. B’s CHOCOLATE with chocolate lovers near and far. Here at Mr. B’s, we handcraft every piece of chocolate. Our chocolate is still imported from Belgium and the original recipes that Mr. Barnes used are still true today. We continue to faithfully serve the community that gave us our start while embracing opportunities to evolve and grow.
