Studio Tanaïs is a multidisciplinary perfume and design studio created by Tanaïs, perfumer and author of In Sensorium: Notes For My People, winner of the 2022 Kirkus Prize, an alternative history of South Asia told through the lens of perfume. Their perfumes are surreal, psychedelic scentscapes, inspired by their Bengali heritage, the wild beauty of their home, New York City, and their spiritual homes: India, Hawaii, Bali, Mexico, the Mojave Desert. Their work has been featured in Vogue, Vogue India, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Vanity Fair, and more. The perfume bottle is an ode to their daily sunset meditations by the East River in Brooklyn, as Venus and the Moon rise in the evening sky. Meant to adorn the wearer in a sense of ritual, Tanais’ creations are opulent, original works of art.
